Honouring a Life, Supporting a Community

Congratulations to Dr. Tony Read, our January 50/50 Grand Prize Winner. In a remarkable act of generosity, Tony, and his wife Rev. Rhonda Lee Read are donating the winnings back to support Stratford General Hospital’s new Cancer & Medical Care Clinic.

Contemplating semi-retirement, Tony and Rhonda Lee moved to Stratford eight years ago to open Avonview Manor B&B. They quickly fell in love with the community and found peace of mind knowing that exceptional care was available at the Stratford General Hospital.

With the passing of Tony’s father, John E. Read, one year ago, he wanted to honour his memory with a gift to the hospital’s new Cancer & Medical Care Clinic. John lived a long and rewarding life in England, ultimately passing away at the age of 93 from cancer. He leaves behind three sons—Tony, Gary, and Nick—his grandchildren, Martine, Charlie, Naomi, and Johnathan—and his great-grandson, Otis.

“Thinking of you, Dad”

Thank you, Tony and Rhonda Lee, for turning your win into this meaningful donation. Your gift, in memory of your father, will help ensure compassionate cancer care for so many in our community.

John. E. Read
